Festival de Peinture a Mascouche 2008

This thankgiving long weekend is the 20th edition of the Festival de Peinture a Mascouche (October 11,12 and 13). Over 150 artists from amateur to professional will be showcasing their works. Although I wont be a part of the artists showing this year, I will try to do some painting on location over there on Saturday or Monday. Come see me and other artists from all over Quebec and Canada. l'Oktoberfest des Quebecois 2008

I went to paint with some follow artists over the past weekend at the 3rd Oktoberfest des Quebecois held in Mascouche, Quebec. We were there to promote for the festival de peinture a Mascouche which is coming up soon on the Thanksgiving weekend in October. It was an afternoon of painting and drinking. lol. Here are some pictures of the event.

One day workshop for portrait oil painting - October 19, 2008 Sunday (advance) Workshop covers using a limited palette, from preparation, initial sketch, lay in, modeling to final touches. (6 spaces available, cost $35) Please contact josefsy@sympatico.ca

I started the portrait of William in oil last night. Its about an hour and a half work with frequent disturbance from the kids.

Hi folks. Its been awhile since I have updated the blog. I have been busy. I started teaching drawing portraits at home for the first time. I have 5 students in total. They are former students from previous classes I have. Here is a demo sketch I gave showing the gride technique. You can see the grid lines around the portrait.
